Getting back to work
For employers forced into making redundancies, we offer a one or two day training workshop for those people who are being made redundant. ‘Getting back to work’ provides those employees leaving you with the tools needed to find a new job.
One day workshop
The one day workshop covers the following areas:
- Introduction.
- Presentation; All about the jobs market. Explaining the jobs market and how it works
- Presentation; Searching for a job. There are four key routes to find a job, each is explored in detail with handy tips to put you ahead of other applicants. (Internet connection is desirable for this presentation)
- Presentation; Writing your CV. An eye-opener for most people. The real way to write a CV that will get you noticed and secure more interviews
- Coffee Break
- Group exercise
- Presentation; Marketing yourself. the covering email or letter (or application form)
- Lunch
- Presentation; Interviews the basics. There is a lot more to interviews than just turning up. This presentation de-mystifies the process from types of interviews to the importance of body language
- Presentation; Preparing for an Interview. By preparing you can reduce nerves, anticipate key questions and plan your strategy
- Tea Break
- Group exercise
- Presentation; Interview Questions. A look at what types of questions are asked, how to answer difficult questions and preparing for the inevitable questions.
- Group exercise
- Questions & Answers and Close.
Two day workshop
The two day workshop includes all of the one day course but adds:
- Surviving Redundancy; How to plan and manage your time whilst out of work and where to go to seek support
- Mock Interviews; the opportunity to plan and practice an interview in a group session
- Psychometrics; Explaining the different types of psychometrics and what they reveal as well as an opportunity to have a go at doing some simple tests
- Assessment Centres; Where and why assessment centres are used and the exercises used during the assessment centre
- LinkedIn; a deeper look at the way LinkedIn and other social media networks are now being used by recruiters to find suitable employees and how you can use these successfully (Internet connection is required for this session)
For up to 15 attendees the one day workshop is available at £750 plus VAT. The two day workshop for up to 15 attendees is available at £1,250 plus VAT.
This presumes that the course will be delivered on site with equipment provided. Room and equipment hire will be charged as an extra. The price is inclusive of travel and out of pocket expenses for workshops within Greater London. For workshops outside Greater London there will be an additional charge for travel and other expenses.
A two month email helpline is available after the course at £50 plus VAT per person.
